Living

Living Abundantly
According to God's Word Series

Some quick points about living from God's Word. I have added emphasis in the verses.

We can trust in the Living God!

I Timothy 4
:10  For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach,
    because we trust in the living God,
    who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

II Corinthians 3 [Aramaic Peshitta New Testament Translation, Magiera]
:3 For you know that you are a letter [also translated epistle in KJV] of Christ that was ministered by us,
    written not with ink, but by the Spirit of the living God,
    not on tablets of stone, but on tablets of the heart of flesh.

We are saved by a Living Lord.

Hebrews 7
:24 But this man, [Jesus Christ] because he continueth ever,
    hath an unchangeable priesthood.
:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him,
    seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

We have life-giving spirit within.

II Corinthians 3
:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament;
    not of the letter, but of the spirit:
    for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

Romans 8
:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus
    hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

We have a living and life-giving Word.

Hebrews 4
:12 For the word of God is quick [living] and powerful
    and sharper than any twoedged sword,
    piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,
    and of the joints and marrow,
    and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Philippians 2
:16 Holding forth the word of life;
    that I may rejoice in the day of Christ,
    that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

Therefore:

We are living sacrifices.

Romans 12
:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,
    that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice,
    holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

We are the temple of the living God.

II Corinthians 6
:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols?
    for ye are the temple of the living God;
    as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them;
    and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Which makes us epistles, living epistles, for our lives are epistles.

II Corinthians 3
:2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts,
    known and read of all men;

 [Aramaic Peshitta New Testament Translation, Magiera]
:3 For you know that you are a letter [also translated epistle in KJV] of Christ that was ministered by us,
    written not with ink, but by the Spirit of the living God,
    not on tablets of stone, but on tablets of the heart of flesh.

We serve a living God and a living lord, Jesus Christ. We have been given the living Word and a living life-giving spirit. Therefore we are to present ourselves as living sacrifices We are the temple, the habitation, of the living God. We have the right, authority, and privilege to serve the word of life.

II Corinthians 5  [expanded]
:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, [our living lord] he is a new creature:
    old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
:18 And all things are of [the living] God,
    who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, [our living lord]
    and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
:19 To wit, that [the living] God was in Christ,
    reconciling the world unto himself,
    not imputing their trespasses unto them;
    and hath committed unto us the [living] word of reconciliation.
:20 Now then we are ambassadors for [our living lord] Christ,
    as though [the living] God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead,
    be ye reconciled to [the living] God.
:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin;
    that we might be made the righteousness of [the living] God in him.

Song:  He Lives

I serve a risen saviour, he's in the world today,
I know that he is living, whatever men may say.
I see his hand of mercy, I hear his voice of cheer,
And just the time I need him, he's always near.

Chorus:
He live, he lives, Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me along life's narrow way.
He lives, he lives, salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know he lives?
He lives within my heart!

Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian, lift up your voice and sing,
Eternal hallelujahs to Jesus Christ the king!
The hope of all who seek him, the help of all who find,
None other is so loving, so good, and kind.
